Hello friends and family! Christmas is over and everything is great. I can't believe Miles is 6 months old already! (Well, I can believe it because he was a very fussy baby) We are lucky because from about 2 months old he slept pretty well and he slept all night but, He didn't sleep or nap at all during the day. Makes for a long day until he goes to sleep. Cara is 18 months. She is doing great. She started walking at 17 months and now she is a terror... into everything. She likes her brother a lot. She has started to play with him more and more. I have videos of Cara walking and Miles in his jumper that I will have to download from home.

I am back at work full time and it is great. I have a nanny that comes three days a week to watch the kids and she is wonderful! I don't know what I would do without her. The other four days she is not there Willy watches them on his days off (Sunday/Monday) and I watch them on my days off (Thursday/Friday).

We are getting ready for new years eve here in the big city. I don't think I am doing anything... just watching the Times Square ball drop with the babies. Willy will be working though and he may even be working down in Times Square. He like the excitement and the overtime pay.

Other than work and the holidays that's about all that's going on here. Love from the McAloons! xoxo!

It has been a long time since I have updated! I had the busiest summer ever... hanging out with a newborn and a one year old all summer kept me very very busy and very tired. Will was out of town for a month too so you know how that goes... I was crazy!

Everything has settled back down. I am back at work and very very happy. I have the best nanny ever - she comes three to four days a week. The kids really love her too and she knows a lot about babies. Miles is getting big. Still eating a TON but now he is sleeping all night. He really has settled down. During the first two months he was always hungry but would eat so much it would make him sick and his stomach was very sensitive. Now he can eat all day and sleep all night and it's great! We are very lucky. Cara is also getting big... she is walking with her push toys but not walking on her own yet. Very very soon I think. She eats everything we give her - including fish, pizza, tacos, chicken. She eats it all. She can say doggie, mama, and dada.

Hello everyone! It has been a while since I posted so I better catch up. We had baby Miles last Monday June 29, 2009. He weighed 7lbs 11oz. I had a scheduled C section. We are all healthy and happy. Miles is doing great! My only issue is that he is sleeping all day and up all night, we're working through it though. Cara looks at Miles and doesn't really know what's going on - all she knows is that he is taking away the attention she used to get. She is doing pretty well but has started crying when he cries. I think to steal some of the attention back for herself.

My brother Andy his girlfriend Brooke came to visit us from Utah last week. We gave them a tour of CBS and here are a few pictures from the top of the broadcast center.

Will and I took his brother and wife to a Yankee game a few weeks ago. The weather was perfect and we had a great time at the new stadium. The Yankees actually won the game we went to... They haven't been winning lately though.

Other than that - not too much more exciting news. Work at CBS has been busy and Will has been busy at his job as well. Being pregnant and working full time, than taking care of a 10 month old at night while Will works has been tiring... But it has been great! Will is doing a great job taking care of Cara all day while I work. We call it daddy daycare... and the hair and the outfits he picks sometimes are really funny. Cara is doing great though. She is almost crawling and has four teeth! We are counting down the days till our baby boy is here. (June 29!)

I took a week off of work while Will was away on military leave with the Army National Guard for a few weeks... Since I usually work weekends it was really nice to be off on a Saturday for a change. We decided to meet my friend Myra from CBS in Central Park. Well - it was the nicest day of the year so far and the park was PACKED! We took a ride on the carousel though and had a great time.

Since I haven't posted in a while I have a lot to catch up on! We have been busy and I can't wait for spring... It seems like this winter has been the longest since I moved to NYC 9 years ago!

Here are just a few photos of pretty Cara during February and March... She is getting so big it's crazy. Still no crawling yet - but sitting up and eating lots of food. Her mode of transportation right now is just to roll whichever direction she wants to go... it is pretty funny and you have to keep an eye on her.

On Valentine's Day Will and I and Will's brother's family went out to dinner at our favorite Greek restaurant in Manhattan. Will actually took me to this restaurant 'The Symposium' on our first date. Will's parents used to come here when they were dating and then they would bring Will and his brothers here while they were growing up... the food is delicious! We all had a great time.

I just added a baby widget thingie and wanted to let our friends and family know that we are expecting a baby boy on July 6, 2009. Everything is going great and I wanted to wait until well into my pregnancy to announce the big news. We found out last week we have a boy... It will be the first boy grandchild on the Hill side and the McAloon side. The CRAZY thing is the due date (july 6) is the same as Cara's due date in 2008. We'll probably have a scheduled C the week before our due date because there hasn't been enough time since my last C section.

This boy has been very rough on me! With Cara I had NO sickness whatsoever. With our boy I was in the ER twice and sick all the time and working full time. The sickness has subsided a bit but it has been rough. He is very big and healthy though so it has all been worth it! I'll post some new pictures of our NYC adventures as soon as I can.

Right now Will is out of town for a couple of weeks serving with the Army. I have been juggling Cara, getting our nanny in more to help me, and working. We can't wait for Daddy to come home.

Hello Everyone, We are doing great, it has been a long winter already in New York City! Lots of snow and cold. It is nice though... as long as I don't have to drive in it too much. Cara is doing well and getting so big. She will be 7 months soon. She has finally started to eat lots of baby food and rice cereal. Just started getting tired of her formula and would cry until she got the real food. She is rolling all over the place but no crawling and no teeth yet. Another thing - Cara is super tall! already 28 inches at 6 1/2 months... 99th percentile the doctor said.
I'll post more pics and update again soon.

On Christmas Day we had the whole McAloon clan over to our apartment for lunch. Will's two brothers and their wives, three nieces, and Papa McAloon came over. It is funny because Will and his brother's actually grew up in the apartment we live in now so it's fun to have Christmas at our place. Lots of good memories there.

It was 67 degrees (crazy!) here in New York City Monday and so we decided to go get our Christmas tree. We had a lot of fun and now I just need to get motivated and decorate the tree... But Will works nights and I work days so I think I may wait until we can do it together. Here are the funny pictures from our adventure.

We had a great halloween in New York City and work is going very well. I can't believe it is already time for Thanksgiving! CRAZY! I know it's late for halloween pics... but I'm gonna post them anyway!

Hello friends and family... Well, momma deb is back at work and things are going well. Daddy is taking care of Cara during the day while I go to CBS News and then I take over at about 3pm while daddy goes to fight crime working in Manhattan for the NYPD intelligence unit. This is a new job for Willy, he is now off the streets and sitting at a desk processing information/intel and writing up cases. It is a very strange environment for him and I think when this gig is over in 6 months he will be ready to run around after criminals in the South Bronx again. Work at CBS is great,it feels like I NEVER LEFT... I am now back into the swing of the news cycle and politics and it's nice to see all my colleagues. Well, that's all we have for now so here are a few funny photos.

The summer is over and it is getting cool outside... We have had a great time hanging out and taking walks. Cara is doing very well and growing like crazy. She still has all her hair! They kept saying it would fall out. She has had several appointments and tests with her neurologist and he says everything is perfect. I go back to work in 2 weeks - not ready to go back but once I get into the groove I think I'll be ok. Heather says she wants new pics so here you go! Nothing too exciting - just me and my girl hanging out.

We are back in New York City after our trip to Myrtle Beach to see my best friend Lorrie and her Family. We had such a great time! Cara was awesome during our travels... she slept the entire plane ride to and from South Carolina. Lorrie and her boys (Husband Boun and sons Blake and Tiger) had such a great time with Cara. Hello everyone! We have been doing very well at home with baby Cara. We had our first bath a few days ago and we like to take walks and keep mommy busy. Cara and I are heading down to Myrtle Beach for a week tomorrow so I thought I would do a quick post before we go. We'll take lots of pictures of our first vacation. I can't wait to hang with my best friend Lorrie and her family.

Thank you everyone for your kind words and prayers for Cara. She came home from the hospital on Wednesday (July 16) at 13 days old. She is doing great at home... eating tons of food and keeping us up all night. Her final tests before leaving the hospital were much improved and now we will just follow up with neurology and keep her on medication.

Introducing Cara Marie McAloon Born July 4!

Hi everyone... This will be a quick post. I wanted to introduce you all to Cara Marie McAloon. She was born July 4 at 230pm. She weighed in at 8lbs 8oz. She had a rough entry into the world and she is still in the NICU at St. Luke's in Manhattan. I had an emergency C section on July 4 and Cara's umbilical cord was wrapped around her neck 3 times. She needed CPR and her right lung collapsed. She also had other problems the first 24 hours. All due to her traumatic entrance into the world. Right now she is improving every day! She is such a fighter, She is now off the respirator, no more seizures, no chest tube, no stomach tube. She is basically doing everything on her own now and tomorrow we go back to the hospital and I get to start feeding her by mouth for the first time. I was discharged from the hospital on Tuesday (July 8) and before we left we got to hold her for the first time and it was amazing... Hopefully if her last tests check out she will be home very soon... Please pray for Cara and know that we appreciate all your support.

I am happy to tell you all I am now Mrs. Deborah McAloon. Will has been wanting to get married for over year - even before baby... And now it is official! We got married yesterday, July 1, 2008. Baby hasn't arrived yet, but any day now we hope. Will is a cop in the Bronx and I'm a huge Yankee fan, so it is only fitting that we decided to get married in the South Bronx Courthouse Chapel, in the shadows of Yankee Stadium. Will's brother Danny is our witness and best man and his niece AnnaBell is my bridesmaid. Take a look!

Baby Meets Ponch!!

What an exciting day at CBS Newspath! Erik 'Ponch' Estrada is here to do an interview... of all the celebrity guests including Martha Stewart, Richard Gere, Tammy Faye, Liza Minelli, Annie Lennox, George Takei, Adam Sandler, Kevin Smith and many others... Ponch is the first person I have taken a photo with.

Let Me Explain... As a child I loved CHiPs. I loved Ponch. I still love Ponch. I even had a CHiPs big wheel. (Myra at work told me not to continue my story about my Love for Ponch after finding out this fact)

Despite Myra's warning I will continue. I met Ponch today!!! Mr. Estrada is very very nice. He told me I was going to have a baby boy... NOT a baby girl like my doctor says. I told him if I have a boy I will have a heart attack. I am not prepared for a boy... I am ready for a baby girl as you can see from the pictures in the post below.

Ponch also gave me birthing advice... He says "take the drugs!" I told him I had planned on taking the drugs if necessary... I'm not against a little pain relief. Ponch also said, "It's gonna hurt." Mr. Estrada also laughed and said he knows so much about babies because he used to be a gynecologist... Oh yeah I bet he did. It was a very pleasant meeting between my new best friend and I. I wonder if my love for Ponch has something to do with being engaged to and in love with NYPD crime cop Willy McAloon... I love Willy for who is - but maybe the gun and the uniform helped a bit?
OK I could go on and on... but I won't. Take a look at the LAST photo. This is my boss Hank Blum... I picked up a new best friend today (PONCH) and a twin brother (HANK).

Getting Ready....

I was off work this week and we got a lot done around the apartment. Really - Will got a lot done. I put him to work right away. He put together the baby furniture and we rearranged the furniture in our other spare room... I am so happy to have most of the boxes out of our house! I haven't decided on a color to paint the baby room... I think I may just leave the room cream and let her pick the color she likes when she gets older! A person of interest in the 'News Stinks' scandal is now under investigation. The CBS worker who parks his trash bin daily near the fax machines is being questioned. We are trying to pick-up new clues in this case... the crazy woman with the pink shirt was caught rifling through evidence. She is being questioned as well. The entire investigative force is on 24 hour call to crack this case. After questioning... suspect one goes back to work... and CBS Entertainment considers a new fall series called Newspath: CSI "Cod Stinks Investigation." We'll keep you updated.

This just in at CBS News....

Apparently some genius at the 3rd place network thinks it's possible to fax a piece of fish. Intrepid Producers in the newsroom found the alleged fillet on a fax machine and spent the afternoon trying to crack the case. Sources say their journalism skills are as fresh as the evidence....

The bet is still on ... GO YANKEES

So Mike and Myra beat Jerry and Debby in the first part of our Yankees/Red Sox bet. Red Sox won two out of the three games last weekend. But out of the goodness and generosity of Mike's heart, the other side has extended the bet to include the Yankees two more games in the Bronx tonite (Wednesday) and tomorrow (Thursday). We're now going for 3 out of 5 games.

Jerry and I both have faith that home advantage will help our team out.

On another note: the reach of the best, most beloved team in baseball even reaches into other galaxies.

NEW YORK (Reuters) - The ceremonial first pitch in Wednesday's Major League Baseball game between the New York Yankees and the Boston Red Sox will be thrown from aboard the International Space Station, the Yankees announced. U.S. astronaut Garrett Reisman, a lifelong Yankees fan, will throw the ball aboard the space station with video of the event beamed to a giant screen inside the stadium, where the Yankees will play their arch rivals. Reisman took some dirt from the Yankee Stadium pitcher's mound, a Yankees hat and a banner with him to the space station, which is orbiting about 220 miles above the Earth.

Lunch is on the line for Myra and Mike P. at work... as the Yankees promise to beat the Red Sox this weekend in Boston. The Yanks must win 2 out of 3... and then M&M will treat me and Jerry to lunch. At First, Myra was too scared to take a picture and bet on her Sox. Then she got this ransom note and she changed her mind. She finally agreed to take a picture with me. Also on this post is Hank Blum working hard while Chuck (the newsroom boss) is in a meeting. Also Sarah hamming it up for the camera (What's new) All in a days work.

Grandma Schmutz Funeral

Just got back from southern Utah and my grandmother's funeral. She lived a long life and she was the sweetest grandma ever! About 15 out of 18 of the grandchildren were there, we all came from a very long way. It was so great to see everyone I haven't seen in SOOO long. Grandma Alenna Schmutz died after getting cancer in her lungs and liver, she died very quickly - in just a matter of days and we don't think she suffered too much. Grandma Schmutz was always serving her neighbors, the grandkids, and the other widows in her town. My fondest memories of her were living with her during the summers in Utah - she had strawberries and peach trees in her back yard, my cousins lived down the street. We were always eating her cookies and pickles, picking strawberries, peaches, and green beans and playing in the yard.

The second picture is my mom's brother Karl and his wife Kay and then my mom. The third picture is my mom and my brother Andrew. The last picture is my cousins and uncle Greg Barlow and Aunt Carolyn Barlow. I wish I had taken more pictures! Oh well.

Willy and Tiornagh run the New Year's Eve Race in Central Park

Willy and my girl Tiornagh started the new year off right... by running a four-mile race at Midnight in Central Park. It was cold - but they had a great time! I had fun sitting on the sidelines and watching the fireworks.

Willy and his partner Kevin (Kevin is on the left Willy is on the right) were honored by the 52 precinct neighborhood association back in November 2007. They were honored for being the best crime cops in the Bronx! (well part of the best crime team in the Bronx) ... In 2007 they made 60 violent felony arrests and got 7 guns off the street.

OK So there are a lot of posts today - the first day of this blog. I have a lot of catching up to do. My parents and my brother Tony and his daughter Aaliyah came to visit me last September. We had a great time. Will and I showed them around the city. We went to Ground Zero (the construction site pictures) Times Square, Central Park, and Grand Central Station.

This is my best friend Lorrie and her family from Myrtle Beach... everyone except the monkeys of course. They are coming to visit us in New York City at the end of month and we are so excited. We plan on taking them to the zoo and to the Statue of Liberty. We'll probably take them to Chinatown and Times Square too! I can't wait!

Just checking out this site to see how it works. Will and I are expecting our first child on July 6 and after seeing all of my cousins blogs... I figured this would be the easist way to share news and pictures.
We will find out in three days (Feb 15) whether we have a boy or girl!
I'll keep you updated.
